Support Services

The Area Agency on Aging of Somerset County helps individuals 60 years of age and older who need in-home support services, including but not limited to those who receive Medical Assistance (also known as Medicaid) and/or Medicare. A variety of specialized services are available which helps the individual live independently in their home setting.

HOME DELIVERED MEALS

Nutritious Home Delivered Meals are for individuals, 60 years of age and older, who are physically disabled, homebound, or otherwise isolated and unable to prepare his/her own meal. This includes emergency meals to these individuals when meal delivery is suspended due to inclement winter weather. In addition to receiving a regular nutritious mel, individuals also receive a check on their safety and well-being by our caring meal drivers. Current Menu

PERSONAL CARE

CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAM

The Federal and State Family Caregiver Support Programs provide services to help reduce the stress and burden for consumers and caregivers. Flexibility in the delivery of services allows the caregiver or the consumer to purchase allowable supplies or pay for the cost for in-home care. Reimbursement for expenses depends on a consumer's own situation. These programs can also include payment for the purchase of needed equipment and minor renovations to the home.
