RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

RSVP offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to retired and semi-retired individuals aged 55 and over. Volunteers are recruited and assigned to the non-profit organization of their choice. Placement is based on the person’s interest, skills and available time. Some examples of volunteer placements are: hospitals, nursing homes, social service agencies, schools, food pantries and other positions too numerous to list. Presently, RSVP volunteers assist the Area Agency on Aging with escort drivers and Apprise volunteers.

In addition to the sense of satisfaction which comes from helping others, volunteers receive the added benefits of accident and liability insurance, assistance with transportation and meal costs, an annual recognition dinner and other support services.
