GUARDIANSHIP, POWERS OF ATTORNEY AND REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE

When a family member or other key persons lack the finances to arrange for and/or serve as decision makers for an at-risk elderly consumer, the Agency can help determine the most appropriate legal course of action to support the health and/or financial needs for the consumer. The action selected is always the least restrictive, so that the consumer can keep the fullest level of independence possible.

The Agency will always involve family members in the decision-making process for the consumer. This approach assures a substitute decision-maker is appointed only for the length of the time that a consumer is unable to act in their own best interest.
