CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS

The Agency, in cooperation with local Home Health Agencies, sponsors two caregiver support groups. These groups meet monthly in the communities of Somerset and Windber. Caregiver gatherings are offered to help any person who is caring for a family member, friend, or neighbor. The goal of the support group is to improve the quality of life for the caregiver by reducing the stress from the demands of caregiving and strengthening the coping skills for these types of responsibilities. By talking or listening in a relaxed and confidential setting, caregivers are offered the opportunity to meet and relate to others who understand the challenges of being a caregiver.
