Area Agency on Aging of Somerset County FARMER’S MARKET PROGRAM The Area Agency on Aging of Somerset County, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Food Distribution, is offering the Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) again this summer to older adults residing in Somerset County. The Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program provides $20.00 in checks to eligible older persons to encourage them to purchase and consume fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers markets. The Program also seeks to stimulate the production of fruits and vegetables by local growers to make their produce available at farmers markets. Through this Program, our Agency will be distributing checks starting June 18, 2007 until all checks are distributed. Older adults residing in Somerset County who are age 60 or older, and whose total 2006 income is at or below $18,889 for a single person or $25,327 for a married couple are eligible to participate in the FMNP. ****Please Remember: If you are picking up a voucher for any person other than yourself that person will need to fill out a proxy form ahead of time and it must be brought in on the day of distribution.****
Please Note: All Somerset County Senior Centers as well as the Area Agency on Aging of Somerset County are out
of the Farmers Market vouchers for 2007.
